NOTHING But Thieves fans had their ears glued to MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1 show last night from 7pm, eagerly awaiting the premier of the band’s brand new single, Amsterdam.

The single - expected for release this month - is the first to be showcased off the band’s forthcoming album, Broken Machine, set to come out in September.

The former Westcliff High School for Boys’ five-piece, who shot to fame with their best-selling self-titled album released in 2015, and who are currently touring the US, will be headlining at this year’s Village Green festival.

It takes place in Chalkwell Park, Westcliff, on Saturday, July 8, and also features fellow headliner, singer-songwriter Kate Nash, as well as a plethora of other music, comedy and dance acts, along with live cookery sets and other entertainment.

Festival producer, Sean McLoughlin, said the festival’s ticket sales have been going well, being sent to places “as far as Holland and Dundee”.

He believes this is largely due to fans taking advantage of the £15 per adult or £10 per teenager ticket price, to see the band who have become Southend’s most famous current music exports, at a fraction of the price compared to other UK summer gigs.
