FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire involving a large pile of wood and rubbish in Vange Park Road, Vange.
Fire crews were called out at 9.50pm last night.
Firefighters needed more water to extinguish the fire than they carry on their engines and as there wasn't a hydrant close to the incident, so the crews set up a 'water shuttle'.
The two fire engines took it in turn to fill up their tanks at the nearest hydrant and return to the incident to take over from the other fire engine.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire by 12:20am. The cause of the fire is unknown.
