GUIDE dog puppies put their training to the test during a special session at Southend Airport.

The six guide dog puppies Prince, Urwin, Bryony, Holly, Flash and Baxter took a tour of the terminal to help them put their training into action.

The aim of the session was to help the puppies get used to busier and noisier environments to give them the best chance at being the top dogs

There were plenty of paws on patrol at London Southend Airport today (Tuesday 9 May 2017) as The Guide Dogs for the Blind training team visited.

Six guide dog puppies - Prince, Urwin, Bryony, Holly, Flash and Baxter - each accompanied by their trainers, took a tour of the terminal.

The handlers and their four-legged friends all went through Security, before visiting the Departures Lounge and also experiencing the Baggage Reclaim Area.

The visit was designed to help the puppies get used to busier, noisier environments.

Glyn Jones, CEO Stobart Aviation said: “The Guide Dogs for the Blind do fantastic work so when they contacted us asking if we might be able to help with their training programme, we were only too pleased to get involved.”
