A CANVEY man has fought off competition from 800 others to win a photography competition.
Retired Michael Lewis entered Essex Police's competition for an image to be used for its Special Constabulary recruitment campaign.
Michael said: "I was particularly pleased to win this event as the photograph depicted Canvey Island's Concord Beach.
"Canvey, in my opinion, is often depicted as the poor relation of the area so hopefully will now view Canvey in a new, well deserved, light."
It is not the first time he has been praised for his work, winning Essex Police Images of Essex competition in July 2015.
He saw off 1,000 other entrants to be crowned the winner.
