A FUNDRAISING night has raised more than £120 for charity.
Members of the Ladies Distaff Club of Canvey wore purple to raise money for Lupus UK.
Lupus is an autoimmune condition which causes rashes, extreme tiredness and joint pain and swelling and can be life-threatening if not properly managed.
Chairman of the group, Iris Howe, suffers from Lupus herself.
She was in attendance and presented the Name the Dolly prize to the winner of the competition Frances Adams.
Lupus UK has been chosen by the group as its charity of the year.
The Distaff club is a women’s only group, and is named after the female side of the family. It is also the name of an implement which is used during spinning.
