PUPILS from Edwards Hall Primary School in Eastwood raised more than £400 for a charity close to their hearts.
The school, in Macmurdo Road, held a non uniform day on Friday to celebrate Juvenile Arthritis Day. Children made a donation to go to school dressed in purple – the colour of the charity- and also bought special wristbands to show their support. Funds raised through the event will be donated to the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.
The day was organised by the family of Lois Foreman, seven, from Eastwood, who is a pupil at the school. Lois was diagnosed with arthritis when she was just two years old but has since beaten the odds to be able to dance, skip and swim along with her classmates. Her family wanted to raise awareness to Lois's condition, to highlight her amazing progress and also to raise money for the charity.
