HAVENS Hospices are searching for Superheroes to take on a new 5K fun run with a twist this autumn.

On Saturday, September 23, Wat Tyler Park will be opening its gates to thousands of Superheroes for a brand new 5K fun run sponsored by Tangent International.

“Kapow” is an inflatable superhero themed assault course consisting of ten inflatable obstacles including a bubble tunnel, foam maze and Big Bertha – a giant slide. It is the first course of its kind and size that has been run in Essex.

The course is suitable for all, but any children under the age of 16 needs to be at least 1.4m tall and accompanied by an adult.

There will be a bit of a festival feel to the day with entertainment and live music so Superheroes can relax, socialise with friends, family and supporters after they’ve completed the course.

Susie May, events fundraiser said “We are really excited about bringing Kapow’ to Essex.

“It is set to be a fantastic event and we are looking forward to cheering on all the superheroes that take on the course.

“It is going to be a brilliant event that is family friendly, but is also suitable for a stag or hen party, team-building with colleagues or just having a laugh with friends.”

Ms May added: “We are incredibly grateful to Tangent International for sponsoring the event. We don’t charge a penny for our care and that’s only possible because our fantastic supporters like Tangent who help us put on events like these to raise vital funds.

“By taking part in Kapow, our runners will be helping another baby, child, young person or adult living with a serious illness be pain free and comfortable as possible and helping us be there for those who need us and their families for as long as we’re needed.”

Simon Dear, chief executive at Tangent International, said “We are all looking forward to this event at Tangent.

“I’m absolutely sure there’ll be a fair few sign-ups from here.”
