TEACHERS and support staff from south Essex received national recognition.
Winners from February’s Essex Teaching Awards were all put forward by Essex County Council for this year’s Pearson Teaching Awards – an annual national awards scheme that celebrates excellence in education.
The following teachers all received certificates of excellence: Eleanor Leahy, Beauchamps High School, Wickford; Sandy Snoxall, Grove Wood Primary School, Rayleigh; Andrée Smith, Basildon Lower Academy and Suzanne Sherlock, Canewdon Primary School, Rochford.
The governing body at The FitzWimarc School, Rayleigh, was also recognised.
Ray Gooding, Essex County Council’s cabinet member for education and lifelong learning, said: “I would like to congratulate all of the Essex teachers who have been recognised through the annual Pearson Teaching Awards.
“Having good quality teachers is vital in ensuring all pupils in Essex receive the best possible education and are equipped with the skills they and the county need.”
