A man has been threatened by another man armed with a hammer.
The victim, a man in his 30s, has been sitting in his car at the roundabout near the Premier Inn in East Mayne at noon on Saturday when another man got out of his vehicle and approached him.
They got involved in a verbal altercation before the man went back to his vehicle, returned with a hammer and threatened the victim.
The man then got back into his vehicle, described as a black Volvo, before leaving in the direction of Pitsea.
He has been described to police as white, of medium build, with medium length brown hair, and a full, trimmed beard.
It is believed there were a number of people in the area who witnessed the incident as traffic was backing up in the area as a result.
Anyone who has any information about the incident, particularly details of the black Volvo’s registration number, is asked to contact Essex Police on 101 quoting incident 572 of June 17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
