RESIDENTS came together to enjoy a day of fun and entertainment in the summer sunshine.

The Thundersley Town Team hosted a community picnic for residents, which was free of charge.

The event was held at Thundersley Common and families enjoyed a range of fun and entertainment on the day.

There were performers from dance groups which wowed the crowds on the day, a visit from a birds of prey organisation and much more.

Colin MacLean, founder of the Thundersley Town Team said: “The idea is very simple, we encouraged residents to pack a picnic blanket, bring along their food/drink and spend a couple of hours chatting with neighbours and meet new friends.

“We are proud that our group has been able to enhance the community spirit within the village since we started organising events and fundraisers.

“ I founded the group about two years ago now and since then we have held all sorts of different community events during that time.”

The group is always looking for new members. Email cllr.cmaclean@castlepoint.gov.uk
