POLICE have praised a nightclub for seizing drugs and a number of ID documents from underage revellers.

Southend’s community policing team took to their Facebook account after a visit to collect items from the safe at Talk Nightclub, in Southend.

They posted: “Checks of the Talk Nightclub safe in Lucy Road Southend conducted by officers from Southend CPT have uncovered a wide variety of items that vigilant door staff have seized from those hoping to enjoy an illegal night out.

“Drugs won’t be tolerated in Southend nightclubs.

“Door staff also seized 21 driving licences and a passport from underage people attempting to use the ID of older siblings in order to enter the club.

“These documents have been sent back to their respective government agencies to be processed and disposed of.”

Police in the town regularly visit nightclubs to collect items seized from revellers by door staff.

In the past, such items have included drugs, fake identity documents, as well as counterfeit currency.
