CANVEY Rotary Club has made donations to help five organisations.

The money will all be going to good causes, including to Carol and Alan Sales and Albert Palmer from the Castle Point Sports Club for the Disabled, with the donation going towards new equipment, and Mick Allwood and Lee Umplby from Canvey Island First Responders to purchase a defibrillator which will be located in the Jones Corner area.

Money was also given to Doreen and Alan Poulsum from Canvey Horticultural Society for gardening equipment to be used at Cedar Hall School, Doreen Cross and Gloria Antonelli from CISCA House to purchase a new intruder alarm system, Jay Hockey and Darren Polybank from Concord Rangers under 13s football team and Ryan Pollard from Concord Rangers under 14s football team, for new football strips.

The money for the fotball kits was from the Furtherwick Park Legacy Fund.
