Southend charity Harp received a recognition for its commitment to making a difference in the lives of volunteers' lives at the Essex Who Will Care? Awards 2017.
The awards also acknowledges individuals, teams and businesses for their tireless efforts in the community.
Robbie Norton, 31, has been volunteering at Harp's charity shop in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff for a year.
Mr Norton, along with a team of other people, raised enough funds to support their work to help the homeless.
He said: "I enjoy helping out at the charity shop every Friday morning and I thought Harp deserved an award for all their hard work, so I nominated them!"
Joanne Dear, volunteering coordinator, said: "Harp was built on a foundation of voluntary action and our volunteers make such a difference to the work we do."
