THE annual Southend Community Event took place at Priory Park.

It was the 17th year that the event has taken place, which is organised by Southend Tenants and Residents Association.

Stalls are allocated to a number of charities and agencies from the area and the day is completely free for visitors.

There were activities for all the family including a bouncy castle, rides and trampolines, a display area and a host of bands playing throughout the day.

There was also a bake off competition.

Julia Pack, of South Essex Homes, said: “It was a really successful day and there were a good few thousand people down there.”
