Fines were handed out to careless motorists who were committing offences whilst behind the wheel, including 13 tickets for not wearing a seatbelt.
Thurrock Council, Essex Police and the Safer Essex Roads Partnership, successfully joined together for the day to make sure the roads were safe.
In total, 39 tickets were issued and five vehicles were seized. Offences included no seatbelts, using mobile phones behind the wheel and driving without insurance.
Portfolio Holder for Highways, Cllr Brian Little said: “These joint efforts are incredibly important in demonstrating that we all take road safety extremely importantly.”
