Southend salon Supercuts is offering a £3,000 VIP experience for the worst groomed man in the borough.

The salon, located in The Royals Shopping centre on the High Street, teamed up with Good Hair Day (GHD) to offer the makeover.

The companies have asked residents to nominate a man who would need a “groom for improvement”.

The generous offer is to mark National Men’s Grooming Day on Saturday.

Kim Perry, regional business manager at Supercuts Southend, said: “We know a tidy appearance is a top priority for many modern men, but there are still blokes out there in need of a beard tame and hair trim.

She added: “If your man doesn’t know his blow-drys from him his manicures and his eyebrows have seen better days, we want to hear from you! It would be great to see a man from Southend bagging the VIP prize.”

The winner will head off to London for a day at GHD’s exclusive studio, an overnight stay in the city, a GHD goody bag and a £500 cash prize to spend on a new wardrobe to accompany his smart new look.

Applicants will need to explain, in 100 words or less, why they think their man deserves the ultimate pampering session.

Supercuts prides itself as a cost-friendly salon where customers will get personalised advice to get their best look.

Residents can submit their nominations on supercuts.co.uk/groomforimprovement before Wednesday September 13.
