Police incident shuts Nethermayne
A Basildon road has been reopened after being temporarily closed due to a police incident.
The A176 Nethermayne was shut The Knares and the A127.
A police officer said: "There was an incident involving a female on the wrong side of the bridge but she has been helped down safely now."
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Police are currently on scene after receiving reports of concern for the welfare of a woman on a bridge on Nethermayne, at around 9.45am this morning.
"Members of the public are asked to avoid the area until further notice, while officers manage the scene."
