AN Essex Police fingerprint examiner raised more than £1,200 for Basildon’s St Luke’s Hospice in memory of her grandmother .
Together with her father and sister, Samantha Gray, who is based in Chelmsford, raised the money by running three marathons and completing an obstacle course.
In July 2016, Sam’s nan passed away after a 10-year battle with kidney disease. St Luke’s Hospice played a big role in ensuring she could spend her time in the comfort of her own home.
Sam said: “These races have been so tough but totally worth it. We cannot put into words how grateful we were for St Luke’s Hospice’s support last year and hopefully our fundraising efforts will help this fantastic charity continue. Thank you to everyone who donated, it’s what kept us going up those hills. I’m now spending a lot of time eating and lying down.”
