A WOMAN has been arrested, three cars have been seized, four stolen caravans have been recovered, and an amount of money and Asian gold jewellery found after a warrant was executed in Basildon.

Officers attended the Dale Farm site at around 11am on Thursday, August 24 following intelligence from Kent Police relating to burglaries in Kent.

A 35-year-old woman from Basildon was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and has since been released under investigation.

Another woman was voluntarily interviewed.

Three cars were seized as they were identified as being linked to a crime while four caravans which had been identified as stolen were also recovered.

An amount of stolen Asian jewellery and money was also found.

Chief Insp Sam Smith, District Commander for Basildon, said: “I want to thank the community at Dale Farm for their support and co-operation during this operation.

“Our officers were on site for some time and we had some really positive engagement with the people living there.”
