Football fans will be able to do their bit for charity with the executive box being offered out to support prostate and breast cancer care.

Ten tickets will be available for Southend United fans to sit in the executive box at Roots Hall on Saturday September 30 as they host Blackpool.

The revenue from the tickets sold will be used to support prostate and breast cancer care which is the Mayor, Fay Evans' charity of the year.

Each ticket is £45 and will be used to provide new equipment for the charity to treat more people and also aid quicker diagnosis for the disease.

Garry Lowen, chairman of the charity committee, said: "Every year Southend United donate a box to the charity group to raise funds for the charity of the year.

"This year they have done exactly the same so it is a chance for the whole family to have a great time.

"It can be £20 to go an watch Southend to sit in the stands and for £45 you will get a great experience which supports people with prostate and breast cancer."

Mr Lowen said that the success rate of treatment for people suffering the diseases has increased in recent years.

He hopes that the experience inside the box can be a way for families and friends to enjoy a day of football while also raising money for the Mayor's charity of the year.
