A lane on the A127 has been closed due to an accident that happened near to Laindon.
The collision involving a van and motorbike happened on the A127 Londonbound.
One lane has been closed on the road between the Fortune of War roundabout and Noak Bridge.
A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said: "The East of England Ambulance Service Trust was called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A127 near Laindon, Basildon at 7.47am this morning.
"An ambulance attended and took a man to Basildon Hospital for further care.
"Although we do not have any details, the patient’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening."
Police say they were at the scene eight minutes after the ambulance service and say that the incident is still ongoing.
Congestion on the road has been high between Noak Bridge and the Nevendon Interchange since around 6.50am.
Traffic has remained slow all the way back to the A130.
