Canvey Island Town Council took part in the Great British Beach Clean event.
The town council chose to get involved to help clear an important and well used area of Canvey.
The team started at Concord Beach Tidal pool and worked all along the sea wall to the yacht club at the point.
Volunteers collected more than 10 bags of rubbish, mainly consisting of household waste and litter.
The national initiative takes part over the second weekend in September and was created by the Marine Conservation Society.
The town council would like to thank all those who volunteered to help at the event and was pleased to be part of this national scheme for the first time. They were happy to help clean a vital area of Canvey.
