A GRANT is available to help residents living with dementia and their carers.

Rochford Council is offering the Safe at Home grant, which offers up to £1,000 per applicant, to help residents to adapt their homes to be suitable for dementia patients.

These include replacing floor coverings, tiling or bathroom fittings, installing noise reduction measures and lighting to improve visibility.

Andrew Lowing, a strategic partnership officer, said: “We are pleased that this grant is now in place to help residents who are living with dementia.

“Not only will it help to make their homes safer but it is will also help residents self-care and improve their own well-being.”
