Southend and Leigh councils are running a series of workshops to ask for residents’ views on the future of the borough.
The Our Future Programme is part of the councils’ wider scheme to improve the economy, communication and social connectivity. Helen Symmons, Town Clerk for Leigh Council, encourages residents to attend the meeting to help drive the future direction of the borough.
She said in a statement: “This isn’t just about gathering the views of local people, but helping to connect-up the ideas and energy that will make a real, practical difference in the years ahead.
“In other words, it’s about encouraging conversations that build momentum, not a consultation exercise that simply leads to a report.
“Above all, we want people to focus on things they think can best be achieved through different groups and individuals working together. We’ll be inviting people in and around Leigh to come together and think about the future they want to help create in their community.”
The workshops will run tomorrow starting at 10am at Wesley Methodist Church.
