A man has sustained serious head injuries after he was assaulted by a man in Rayleigh.
The man was hit in the head with a bottle outside the Pink Toothbrush in High Street.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but they were not life threatening of life changing.
Reports say that he sustained the injuries after being involved in a fight at around 3.30am on Saturday morning.
Essex police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information about the assault.
Pc David Love, the investigating officer, said: “There would have been a lot of people on the High Street at this time and I’m urging anyone who saw the incident or has any information about it to come forward.”
