CANVEY Island manager Danny Heale says he is looking to level the scores when they visit ‘disrespectful’ Tilbury tonight.

The Gulls climbed to second in the Isthmian North with a 1-0 win against Bury Town on Saturday.

However, their one defeat so far came against Tilbury in the second match of the season.

The Dockers have been involved in some thrilling encounters recently - with 29 goals scored in their last five matches.

And Heale said he is determined to get the better of them.

“We lost to them early on this season although we had some unavailablility that day,” said Heale. “We lost the game but dominated large parts and we owe them one.

“We heard them singing after the game and they showed us a bit of disrespect.

“So we all want to win this game, but we are taking nothing for granted.

“I have said all along we are more than good enough for this level and we are clicking into gear now and pulling in the right direction.

“But we know we must keep working hard.

“We have worked very hard on the defence and when we lose the ball we are hard to break down. Long may that continue.”
