Travellers have pitched up in a car park.
Councillor Kerry Smith reported that 12 caravans have arrived in the Beacon Fields Car Park, in Dry Street, Langdon Hills.
The car park is used by people wanting to get onto Langdon Hills Nature Reserve.
Mr Smith said: "I have been contacted by a number of people.
"We believe they arrived this morning.
"They have already started flytipping."
Thurrock Council, which manages the car park on behalf of Essex County Council, has been contacted for comment.
