Does your cat have purrrrrr-fect stage presence? Is your moggie a great fe-line dancer? Does it pine for its first stage meow-ting?! If so the Players Theatre Company could be looking for you!

The Westcliff based-Theatre Company is auditioning for cats to play the role of ‘Ophelia’ the theatre cat in its upcoming production of Curtains – The Broadway Musical Whodunnit at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff.

The show, which is a hilarious new musical penned by Kander and Ebb - the creative team behind Cabaret and Chicago - runs from November 29 to December 2 with performances nightly at 7.30pm and a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.

The lucky cat will be required to attend all performances, must be confident in front of an audience but will not be required to undertake a speaking role.

The show is set in Boston in 1959, where Rob Hood a new musical could be a hit, were it not for its talent free leading lady.

Following her murder on opening night, LT Frank Cioffi is dispatched to solve the crime, but being a keen fan of musical theatre he is soon just as drawn to saving the show as he is to solving the crime.

Filled with catchy tunes and great characters this show will be great fun to watch, and a great start for any budding feline thespian to ‘pad’ the boards.
