TWO charities based in Rayleigh and Canvey have been approved as good caused set to benefit from the Essex Lottery.

Trust Links Mega Centre in Rayleigh, which supports children and families, and Yellow Door, which helps young people on Canvey, can be given extra funds when people buy lottery tickets.

Tickets for The Essex Lottery will go on sale on October 11 and the first weekly prize draw will take place on November 25. It has been set up by Essex County Council to support communities right across Essex.

Matt King, Trust Links’ chief executive, said: “We hope the local community will get behind us and buy tickets. Lottery players will be able to select us as the cause they wish to support and 50p of the £1 ticket price will go direct to us, which will help provide support to adults with mental health problems.”
