An elderly man has been injured after his car has turned on its roof in Leigh.
The incident happened on Oakwood Avenue, close to the junction of Eastwood Road, at around 10:43am, causing the road to be blocked off.
The car had turned on its roof, causing the windows to smash leaving glass over the road.
The police and ambulance were at the scene of the incident.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 10.18am today to a report of a car that had overturned on Oakwood Avenue.
"A rapid response vehicle and ambulance crew attended to a report of a man, believed to be in his 70s, who had suffered a hand injury.
"He was taken to Southend University Hospital for further care."
The road is blocked until further notice.
