A man has been given a suspended jail sentence after he crashed into a motorcyclist causing them to die.
A Suzuki motorbike and a Citroen C3 were in collision on the A1013 Stanford Road, Orsett, on September 21, 2016.
The motorcyclist, Douglas Dines, aged 55, from Grays, sadly died at the scene.
Geoffrey Goodall, 62, self-employed, of Hill House Drive, Chadwell St Mary, admitted a charge of causing death by dangerous driving when he appeared at Basildon Crown Court on October 9.
He was sentenced the same day, after admitting causing death by dangerous driving, and given a two year jail term, suspended for two years.
He was also banned from driving for three years, ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, was given a four month curfew between the hours of 7pm to 6am, and ordered to pay £750 court costs.
