Two men have been charged in connection with a robbery investigation.
Paul Stevenson, 38, of no fixed address, was arrested yesterday, Thursday October 12, in connection with robberies at the Co-Op store in Meppel Avenue, Canvey, on October 8; Greetings to You in London Road, Hadleigh, on October 6; and Belgravia Florist in High Road, Benfleet, on October 7.
He was charged today, Friday October 13, with three counts of robbery and three counts of possession of a knife.
Stevenson was also detained for being unlawfully at large.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Saturday October 14.
A second man, George Turner, 20, was arrested on Tuesday October 10.
Turner, unemployed, of Middle Mead, Rochford, was charged with a robbery at the Co-Op store in Meppel Avenue, Canvey, on October 8.
He appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court yesterday, Thursday October 12. No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on November 9.
