CANVEY Bay Watch have produced a calendar made up of all the best bits of the sea front ready for the Christmas season.

The new calendar was photographed by Michael Lewis of Mickytakes Photography, showing off the sights that the group feel are unappreciated in Thorney Bay.

Already the group have sold 200 copies of the new calendar which will be used to further fund the Bay Watch in its work to better the seafront on the island.

Barry Campagna, chairman of Canvey Bay Watch spoke about how the idea came together.

He said: “Myself and Michael have been friends for years and he takes lots of photographs of the sea front and we said we should do a calendar of all of them.

“Within a few weeks it was up and running.

“Everyone has been supportive and we have kept the price at £5 which for the calendar and 12 fantastic pictures of Canvey sea front, you will not see much better value for money.”

Mr Campagna also thanked Design 4 Print in Vikings Way who printed the calendar.

The calendars will be available to buy from the bay cafe and a few other shops on the island.

Residents will also be able to buy the calendars directly from the Bay Watch team when they are at the bay on Tuesdays.
