THE PREVIEW: Bowers & Pitsea welcome Aveley to the Len Salmon Stadium looking to pick up their first Isthmian North win in three games.

Consecutive defeats to AFC Hornchurch and Grays Athletic have followed the 2-0 win at Witham Town at the start of the month.

And Rob Small’s side will be aiming to get back to winning ways against Aveley.

But the Millers players will be looking to impress new manager James Webster, who was appointed last week.

Aveley have drawn both of Webster’s first two games in charge.

MEN TO WATCH: Tony Stokes and David Knight were on the bench at Grays Athletic in midweek, but are likely to be used from the start tomorrow.

Ex-Bowers goalkeeper Rhys Madden will be trying to keep them off the scoresheet.

WHEN & WHERE: 3pm, tomorrow at the Len Salmon Stadium, Crown Avenue, Pitsea, SS13 2BE.

WHAT THE BOSS SAID: “I thought we did well against Grays,” said Small. “In the first half, we were the better team, had more intensity, kept the ball better and had the better chances.

“But when we were on top, we didn’t capitalise.

“Grays scored on the counter attack early in the second half and, if I’m being truthful, they dominated and we were lucky to stay in there.

“Aveley’s new manager has had success and they are a different prospect to what they were at the start of the season.”

TEAM NEWS: Martyn Stokes was forced off with an injury against Grays Athletic in midweek.
