CONCORD Rangers captain Steve Cawley and manager Adam Flanagan were sent off in a lively 2-2 draw with Weston-super-Mare.

Cawley gave the Beach Boys an early two-goal lead, but Weston pulled one goal back after the break.

And following Cawley's dismissal, the hosts were unable to hold on and Weston pulled level late on.

Concord dominated the first half and broke the deadlock early on.

Ben Greenhalgh was bundled over in the penalty area by away goalkeeper Luke Purnell and Cawley stepped up to send the shot-stopper the wrong way.

Lewis Knight then volleyed over the crossbar from six yards before Cawley scored a second spot kick with just 20 minutes on the clock.

Khale Da Costa was denied by Purnell as Weston struggled to repel the Concord attacks.

Greenhalgh then sent a free kick just over the crossbar, while Purnell saved a Cawley lob.

Less than 10 minutes after the interval, Weston pulled a goal back.

And that goal seemed to galvanise the visitors, who went in search of a leveller.

The Beach Boys were reduced to 10 men after 66 minutes after Cawley lunged into a challenge and was shown a straight red card.

Concord defended well, with goalkeeper Louis Wells making a number of fine saves to frustrate the away side.

Femi Akinwande came close to notching the hosts' third of the afternoon but Weston were to score the equaliser in the dying moments.

And to make matters worse, Flanagan and his assistant were sent off before full-time.
