GREAT Wakering Rovers booked their place in the second round of the FA Vase after overcoming Holland.

But the Essex Senior League promotion hopefuls were certainly made to work for their 2-1 win.

Neil Richmond netted from the penalty spot to give the visitors the lead inside 10 minutes.

But Steve Eaton equalised to result in the sides going in at half-time all square.

However, Nash stabbed home a late corner to book Wakering's place in the next round.

Meanwhile, Hullbridge Sports will travel to Colney Heath for a replay after their clash ended 1-1 after extra-time.

Jack Woods' eighth minute free kick put Sports behind, but Hullbridge were back on level terms just nine minutes later after Ollie Miller lobbed over the Colney Heath goalkeeper.

Jimmy Cox hit the crossbar but the sides could not be separated after extra-time.

And the sides will meet again tomorrow.

While Hullbridge may join Wakering in the second round of the competition, Basildon United failed to advance as Marc Harrison's charges were beaten 2-0 by Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side Biggleswade.

Elsewhere, Southend Manor were in Essex Senior League action.

And Stuart Marshall's side were able to claim a 2-0 win over bottom of the table Wadham Lodge.

Bayley Newell bagged a brace as Manor moved up the Essex Senior League standings to 14th place.
