A footballer at Billericay Town has been charged with assaulting a teenager.
Jamie O’Hara, 31, who has appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, is alleged to have lashed out at the 16-year-old boy after a clash with rival fans last April when the non-league team lost 3-2 to Leatherhead.
The former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara became the latest big name to join Billericay Town.
O’Hara had been without a club since leaving League One side Gillingham by mutual consent in September.
A spokesman from Surrey Police said: “A 31-year-old man has been summonsed to court in relation to an assault on a teenage boy.
“The incident took place following a football match in Leatherhead on April 15."
“The man is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on November 10.’’
