A STATE-OF-THE-ART £1million go-karting track is on course to open later this month.

The new track in Festival Business Park, in Festival Way, Basildon will open its doors on Saturday November 25.

TeamSport Karting have built the new indoor course at a cost of £1.2million.

Dominic Gaynor, managing director of TeamSport, said: “Basildon already has a thriving leisure area and we’re delighted to be able to bring a new form of entertainment so close to the leisure park.

“We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors to our new Basildon centre to experience the fun.”

The new 500 metre circuit will allow for up to 16 drivers at any time.

There will also be rooms available for corporate events and children’s parties with races that will suit each type of event.

Mr Gaynor said: “Indoor karting is growing in popularity as a hobby across all ages.

“Our range of race events caters for everyone.

“From great value family karting where adults and kids can race safely together, to Team Challenge race events perfect for teambuilding days and our ever popular Open Timed Race Sessions for individuals and small groups.

“To support this, we run offers such as half price midweek karting.

“There is also discounts for students along with our exclusive Grid Membership.

“To coincide with our launch of TeamSport Basildon we are offering a special rate of £25 per person on selected events until the end of December.”

The track is the 24th that TeamSport have opened across the country.

There will also be food and refreshment bars at the venue. Visitors are able to buy pizza and get drinks from a fully licensed bar after racing.

TeamSport will have a specially trained team of staff who will ensure that all drivers are safe when on the track. The track is still currently under construction but the build is expected to be ready well in time for the grand opening of the new facility.
