A secondary school has been holding fundraising activities to raise awareness of anti-bullying week.

The King Edmund School, in Vaughan Close, Rochford, has been showing their support for anti-bullying with fundraising activities being held by all the students.

Kidscape is a charity that provides children, families, carers and professionals with advice, training and practical tools to prevent bullying and protect young lives.

They are encouraging schools to hold a Friendship Friday event, which celebrates the importance of friendship.

In support of this event, the school created a ‘Friendship Box’ for students to put messages in that give recognition of a kind deed or says thank you to a friend.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance is a coalition of organisations and individuals that are united against bullying.

They are encouraging schools to hold an Odd Socks Day, an opportunity for children to express themselves and appreciate individuality and uniqueness.

The King Edmund School students took part in this event and enjoyed the opportunity to show their individuality through the socks they wore. Students donated over £160.

Anti-Bullying Week is coordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance and took place from Monday to Friday in schools this week.
