A man was restrained and threatened with a knife while thieves invaded his home.

Three men forced their way into the man's home in Kiln Road, Benfleet and took hold of him while they searched the home.

The victim managed to get to his personal alarm, where the alerted police to the incident.

The suspects fled before police could arrive at the scene.

They stole a CCTV hard drive and the keys to his car.

The men left the house, however, did not take the vehicle.

The incident happened at around 12.30 this morning.

Essex police have released description of all three victims of the incident.

The first suspect was described as a white man, around 5ft 6ins tall and of a medium build.

The second was described by the victim as a white man, around 5ft 7ins tall and of a medium build.

The third suspect was also described as a white man, around 6ft tall and of a slim build.

All three of the men who invaded the victims home were wearing, dark tops and they also had balaclavas on.

Witnesses or anyone who saw the three men, matching these descriptions in the area at the time, are asked to call Basildon CID on 101 quoting incident 24 of November 20.
