AN MP visited Southend Mencap Operatic and Dramatic Society at the Palace.

Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, said he was delighted to attend the show, which was “full of fun, frills, laughter and amazing talent”.

He said: “It is wonderful that the society has returned to the Palace Theatre for a second year in a row. Last year’s performance was superb, however they have somehow managed to top that and deliver a fantastic show packed with magical songs and fabulous music, covering four decades of recent history.

“Many audience members were out of their seats joining in the fun as with all MODS’ musicals. I certainly look forward to next year’s performance, which I have no doubt will be ever better than this year’s!”
