THE MATCH: East Thurrock United face a difficult task if they want to improve on their four match winning streak when they travel to Hampton & Richmond Borough tomorrow.

Rocks go into the clash having picked up two consecutive National League South wins against Gloucester City and Welling United, with both matches ending in 3-0 victories.

But Hampton will be a tough nut to crack.

Both sides met at the FutureFuel Stadium on the opening day of the season, with the match ending 1-1.

Hampton have conceded just 17 league goals since that encounter and currently find themselves third in the standings.

But John Coventry’s side, who booked their place in the last eight of the Essex Senior Cup with a 3-1 triumph over Waltham Abbey in midweek, know a win could take them into the play-off places.

THE INSIGHT: “I sound like a broken record but, once again, I don’t know what sort of team I will have available,” said Coventry.

“I cancelled training last night as I can’t risk further injuries to players. I have six having treatment and I will be thin tomorrow.

“But we have a good record against Hampton and it is an enjoyable place to go. I get on well with (manager) Alan Dowson so I am looking forward to it.

“They were a good team last season and are a good team this season as well but we know all that and that is what this league brings.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Lee Burns returns from suspension although a number of players remain doubtful.
