THE Castle Point Charity Players donated hundreds to the volunteers of its community first responders.
The group donated a total of £800 to the Canvey and Benfleet First Responders in order to show support for the groups who work in conjunction with the East of England Ambulance Service.
The Charity Players and both groups of first responders came together at St George’s Church Hall, Rushbottom Lane, Benfleet, where each group were presented with a cheque for £400.
The community first responders work with paramedics to help report to 999 calls as quickly as possible.
The groups are not funded by the NHS Trust and they use their own vehicles to respond to emergency calls made by the public in their area.
