AN Essex journalist is set to release his first book and now wants to help other aspiring fiction writers down the same path.
Greg Fidgeon, 39, began writing his collection of short stories, published on Amazon as The Long And The Short Short Of It, nearly 20 years ago.
The stories for adults vary from tales of bullying and death to superheroes and silliness.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to be an author and always had loads of ideas for stories. But the problem was in the execution.
“I was a writer who didn’t write. Well, I certainly didn’t complete much.
“With the help and encouragement of a few friends, I was able to knuckle down and put together this book.”
Mr Fidgeon, from Leigh, who works as a sub-editor on a national newspaper, has set up a free Facebook group - RockSolidWriters and his book, The Long And The Short Short Of It, is available to order now on Amazon priced at £7.99 for paperback and 99p on Kindle.
