A DOUBLE dose of Southend blues will be served up this Sunday - January 14 - when the Blues Spiders and Martin McNeill's Bottleneck Blues both turn up to play at the Railway Hotel.
Martin McNeill and his band kick off the proceedings from 4pm, followed by the Spiders at 7:30pm, who promise to play a further two sets.
It's the first gig of the new year for the Blues Spiders, and they say they are looking forward to returning to "Southend's grooviest art and ale house".
The band say they draw upon the long established tradition of Thames Delta bands, playing some blues classics, some favourite R'n'B, with some self-penned material thrown in.
The Railway Hotel is situated in Clifftown Road, Southend.
Admission is free.
