Two men have denied that they conspired to rob a laundrette in Grays, an incident which resulted in the death of a man.
Michael William, 35, of Old Farm Park, Milton Keynes, and Joseph Pearls, 28, of Charter Place, Watford, both stand accused of conspiring to rob Baylees Laundrette on December 4 last year.
They appeared in court today via live video link from Chelmsford Prison where they were asked to enter their pleas.
They both denied the charges made against them.
They are due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on June 4 this year where they will stand trial.
On December 4 last year, it is alleged that Baylees Laundrette was raided and one man died during the incident. A murder investigation is ongoing into the man's death.
A 39-year-old man from Grays who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released from bail but remains under investigation while enquiries continue.
