Police have charged a man and a woman in connection with serious offences in the Southend area.
Jamie Sherfield, 34, of Preston Road, Westcliff, has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife in a public place and wounding with intent and Kerry Brown, 32, of Preston Road, Westcliff, was charged with wounding with intent.
Both are due appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, February 6).
At around 1.30am on Saturday, February 3, we received a report that a man had been attacked with an axe by two people in Princes Street, Southend.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his chest, leg and arm.
That same day at around 2.35pm, a man threatened customers and staff with a knife in Savers, in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, and ran off with a three-figure sum of cash.
Officers arrested two people in Westcliff at around 10.45am on Sunday, February 4.
