A LOLLIPOP man whose job was under threat from County Hall bean counters four years ago has marked his 20th anniversary keeping the town’s children safe.

Victor has served the Eastwood Road crossing for Wyburns Primary School, in Rayleigh, for two decades.

He was treated to thank-you gift by two school governors, bought using donations from teachers, parents and children.

Victor very much enjoys working for the school and values his part in helping keep children safe. In statement on behalf of all of the staff, parents and children at Wyburns Primary, the school praised Victor for his work and issued a “big thank you” for everything he has done.

Lottie and Ethan, two of the school’s junior governors, helped to personally deliver his thank you gift, bought from the donations raised by the school.

The school launched a successful campaign in 2014 to stop Victor from losing his job due to c Essex County council cuts.
