A ROTARY club donated a defibrillator to the community of Benfleet.
The defibrillator was donated at Benfleet Rotary Club’s meeting in Gallo d’Oro restaurant in Hadleigh.
The defibrillator will be placed in a cabinet at the Shell garage at the corner of Benfleet High Road and Kents Hill Road.
It will be available at all times.
Rotarian Jim Dove said: “Benfleet First Responders David Flood and Linda assisted to obtain the purchase and received the cheque from Rotarian Ian Smith, immediate past president in whose year the money was raised, with great support from Castle Point Motors.
“During the meeting Castle Point Motors kindly agreed to provide a further defibrillator also to be sited in the area.”
At the meeting donation cheques were also presented by Ian Smith to Parkinsons UK, RNLI and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
