Residents who live in the road where a man was stabbed five times said the constant crime has left them worried.

A man was stabbed near Wickford Avenue, Pitsea, last night after trying to break up an altercation between two youths.

He was taken to hospital but thankfully has not suffered life changing or life threatening injuries.

Residents of nearby Chavers Pawen described seeing police searching through bushes that back onto a children’s park at the edge of properties on the estate.

A police car was parked in the park and two others and a van were parked in the estate this morning.

A resident, who asked not to be named said: “I heard from a friend who lives nearby that there had been a stabbing last night.”

“The police haven’t spoken to me or any of the other residents about what happened, we don’t really know what’s going on.”

Other residents said the police haven’t said a thing to them.

She said: “I have three kids and worry about them visiting me constantly."

"I worry about walking around at night."
